Dear Steve, I was at CGS from 1957-1964 during which Roy was our x-c and athletics coach. As well as anl enthusiastic approach to running in general, I remember especially one occasion when between the M/C and Lancs schools x-c, knowing that the course at Oldham was hilly, he took Gordon Grant and me to Alderley Edge to train (we weren't so grateful at the time) and I have been a hill runner ever since. I was hoping to meet him at the Navember reunion and am sad not to have been up to previous ones. He was one of those special teachers whom one always remembers for sparking and maintaining an interest. my best wishes to you and your family. RPD
